The Lion King
Last Sunday was a great day for me. My friend Brenda and I went to watch The Lion King musical.
It was very exciting actually, cos we had to book our tickets somewhere in November of last year, cos this is a really really popular show and every one in town has gone or is goin to the show. For the price i paid, it was all worth it.
Yes, I paid $99.75 aussie dollars.
The show was held at this posh theater called the Regent Theater here in Melbourne. The interior is so freakin grand, it's like a palace with walls of gold or somesort. Very exquisite designs on walls and ceilings and every where else u looked. Cameras/video cams were strictly prohibited in the theater, so below are just a few pictures i got from the website.
This is Simba doin his thing. The other is Simba and his uncle, Scar. Props and lightings and costumes and everything was so perfect. They had elephants and giraffes and birds and hyenas and animals of all sorts. The cast were really really good, no wonder they've got such good reviews through out the world.
This show premiered in Melbourne in July 2005 and has extended their season till June due to the high demand. Even with this extension, tickets were almost sold out in December or early January. The only other place in Australia to hold this show was Sydney. If Lion King ever comes near to you, don't miss the opportunity to go. Loving it!!
